College Savings or a new Mac Book?

Is it worth it to spend my $1000 savings on college or partially on a new Mac Book which I will use in that same college? Either way, my parents say I have enough financial aid to cover my enrollment. I am going to study filmmaking in about a few years so I would probably need a good laptop. Then again, I am trying to be conservative in not spending money on something that I wouldn’t need yet.
